În 18 decembrie s-au acordat premiile HUGO pentru 2021 – celebrul premiu decernat anual de către The World Science Fiction Society celor mai bune lucrări de science-fiction sau fantasy de limbă engleză, unde laureații sunt aleși pe baza voturilor membrilor Worldcon (numele premiului este un omagiu adus lui Hugo Gernsback, fondatorul celebrei reviste americane de science-fiction, Amazing Stories din 1926).
Pentru premiile Hugo 2021 au fost primite și numărate 1249 de buletine de vot valide de la membrii Convențiilor Mondiale de Science Fiction din 2020 și 2021.
