Ieri a fost anunțat, la Muzeul de Știință din Londra, Premiul Arthur C. Clarke pentru 2022. Acesta este acordat celui mai bun roman SF din Marea Britanie (publicat pentru prima dată în în anul precedent).
Premiul are un juriu diferit în fiecare an; membrii juriului sunt nominalizați de către British Science Fiction Association, Science Fiction Foundation și Sci-Fi-London Film Festival, toate acestea susținând Premiul Clarke. În acest an, cei patru jurați ai premiului au citit peste 100 de cărți trimise de peste 39 de edituri și autori independenți pentru a ajunge la lista scurtă de șase cărți.
Dintre acestea, juriul a ales-o drept câștigătoare pe Harry Josephine Giles, cu romanul Deep Wheel Orcadia.

Harry Josephine Giles este o scriitoare și interpretă din Orkney, care locuiește în prezent în Leith. A trăit pe patru insule, fiecare mai mare decât cealaltă. Are un master în regie teatrală și un doctorat în scriere creativă la Universitatea din Stirling. Lucrările lui Harry Josephine se desfășoară în general în zonele complicate în care spectacolul și politica se amestecă.
În calitate de poet, Harry Josephine a făcut turnee la nivel mondial, a susținut recitaluri în locații de la Bowery Poetry Club la Hogmanay din Edinburgh, a cântat la festivaluri de la New Zealand Writers Festival la Metropolis Bleu din Montreal. Romanul său în versuri Deep Wheel Orcadia a fost publicat de Picador în octombrie 2021 și a fost selectat de Poetry Book Society Winter Selection. Colecțiile ei de poezie – Tonguit (Freight Books 2015) și The Games (Out-Spoken Press 2018) – au fost preselecționate pentru Edwin Morgan Poetry Award (de două ori), Forward Prize for Best First Collection și Saltire Poetry Book of the Year.
Ca artist de teatru, Harry Josephine a participat la platforma națională SPILL și la festivaluri precum Forest Fringe (Marea Britanie), NTI (Letonia), Verb Festival (Aotearoa) și Teszt (România).
